No I am just a normal customer / consumer. My initial question was why would a tradesman take the time to come out to quote for work and then not quote - not happened to me before.

Which then lead me onto this question which I thought was interesting.

I would be concerned if my rate were that high Riley. That should only happen if you are far too cheap, you live on a remote island where you are the only choice or the others are Sweeny Todd Plumbing ... 😉

No a lot of it is because I am trusted through a letting agent where I am quoting for a large number of landlords who have faith in the service provided by the agent and their contractors

I think that would lead to upset customers who dont know the difference between a quote and estimate.

There is something "not right" about this thread and @Justice League as said before it could be a survey type thing, just don`t understand why they keep asking these questions and their reasons don`t stack up.
