Just popped in to say "Hi". Found this forum when looking for a solution to our stiff shower bar tap. Have got some ideas which I'll try. Had a new cartridge a few months back but it's a stupid design of tap with very little to grip, and when wet it's almost impossible to move. Well done Bristan! Temporary fix is a shower head with a "stop" button. Anyway, very helpful to have landed here. Angie

Hi welcome to the forum! I am glad you managed to sort out your problem - any photos to share?

Hello and welcome
Hi Shaun, thanks. It's a Bristan Prism, vertical style, but it's an old design, without any lever on the tap, which make it really difficult to turn when one has wet hands! Sadly my attempts at descaling it and lubricating have failed. Hey ho.

Cartridge sounds like it’s on its way out
We had the cartridge replaced ten months ago, so I'd hope it's not that already. Would rather have a different style of shower bar, but that would mess with the tiles and we're not planning on redoing the bathroom just yet.

Here's hoping i upload these ok.

And let me guess the other side of the shower wall you can’t get at ?
Yep, well, the other side is the landing, and pretty sure it's a solid wall just there. If the shower wasn't so close to the wall it would be easier to turn as one could grip it better, but it is what it is.
