Solid fuel back boiler decommission

We have a vented oil-fired heating system with a coal fire back boiler, this is going to be changed to a sealed pressurized system tomorrow and I believe, they are decommissioning the back boiler.
I have only discovered today there is no access to the water jacket, so will it be good enough to just to drain and disconnect the pipes and leave the pipes open, so no pressure can build up when we use the fire?

How works is not the point as such, but here is a picture how the system works at the moment.
Apparently as we are changing to heat pump witch works on a pressurized system like a combi boiler it is not possible to have a back boiler as well as the can not work with a pressurised system.
If you do not disconnect them right the pressure builds up when you light a fire and they explode!

You miss my point
If you have a open fire with back boiler (or a wrap round boiler Dunsley type) the boiler has to be exposed to fire to work.
Thus easily accessed to drill holes in it or whatever.

By regs if you are going to continue using the fire then it should be removed.
In reality pipes are cut back as far as possible and the back boiler drilled. Light a fire and you will get some steam as the remaining water is boiled off.

Ok, thanks, so if it can not be accessed from the back they can drill from the front?Or would leaving pies uncapped be ok?
Als do you know why it can apparently not work with a pressurized system?
