Only asking as I have come across this a few times lately. When doing a safety check have found flues in voids with no inspection hatches, co alarm required in every room flue passes through.

If the landlord is not available at the time you obviously cant fit one but what would you charge for the reacall to fit one, its only a case of banging a nail in the wall and sticking one up?

Personally I would charge £50 plus the cost of the alarm. Or less than £50 and inflate the cost of the alarm to make it £50 profit.

Time is finite, and time is money. It's not worth going all the way back there for a tenner and a pat on the back.

Also, I know I should know the answer but if there are no co alarms in every room it passes through before the 31st of dec is it still AR if all other tests prove to be ok, i.e fga, flame picture etc

TB008 gives a a risk assessment sheet to follow, along with a chart showing what to categorise things as

I've tried to read that but nearly fell asleep. Do you still need co alarms in every room a flue passes through of you've got inspection hatches?
