Got to love kitchen fitters...

why do kitchen fitters assume they are bonafide competant plumbers? i mean that looks awful. i hate those rigs anyway, i got a 1.5 sink in my kitchen, i plumbed them up using two traps both joined in via a swept tee to one 40mm pipe.

now both sinks have a trap meaning no smells can eminate from either bowl. takes up a but more room under the sink but not that much to notice! and it will never leak!

that's exactly how i do them too

two traps into one pipe? so what stops the danger of one pulling the other ?dont tell me you run the pipes up hill slightly to get some run back you sure your not both kitchen fitters?

i was in a custards house when i first came up with brain wave, custard had kitchen fitted but declined the use of the fitters plumbing skills, so called me in... anyway he said the sink came supplied with that nasty crap fitting as featured in a pic above, he asked me what alternatives i could come up with.

anyway 10 mins spent in back of van and with two traps one with a spigot for D/W and one without and one 1.5" swept tee and bingo job done. i was so impressed with my idea, i went home and repiped my sink lol!

because the trap on half bowl is deeper than one one sink, which can pass alot more water than half bowl, deeper trap prevents vacuum suction!

Im a plumb, i work with tubes and copper and plastic - i dont do wood unless its to support my pipes, i never fit kitchens its not my cuppa T lol

Saw a discharge pipe on the side of a house earlier with an iso' valve on. Couldn't get pics though as I'd have looked like a peeping Tom. The side of the house was freshly painted so I assume it was 'randomly spewing water' and the iso was fitted to make the painter's job easier.
