M

Masood

Just finished off an install of one of these plus unvented cylinder.

Powered everything up, boiler came to life, didn't seem to go through it's normal purge/test cycle. Put it into engineer mode, and it fired up lovely on full rate, manually opened both 2-port valves, pipes getting hot, great!

Then - no response to call for heat, either for HW or CH. I have 240V on the RT (switched live) terminal when there is demand, 0V when no demand, which shows that my programmer, stats and 2-ports are all doing what they should.

I have 240V permanent live. I have removed the bridge on the 24V terminal block.

Just to prove the point I linked the perm live to the switched terminal, still no response.

Faulty PCB on a brand new boiler? Or am I stupid and missing something?

Double checked settings? Ch not set to off?

Double, triple and quadruple checked. Stood next to boiler with RF room stat, checking that receiver was clicking on and off. But if CH was set to off, I wouldn't get 240V at the switched live...

just been perusing the manual online, soo many things to press and set up on the boiler, check through all the settings first, chances are something is turned off, too much computer and not enough boiler if you get my drift.

if it does problem is your wiring Masood or faulty wireless stat check stat again ! When commissioning s plan let stats open motorised valves for hot water and ch ( not manually )

Yeah, I'm beginning to second-guess myself now. I'll have another crack tomorrow, instead of using the installer wizard I'll go through it all manually. I tried to get him to go for an Intergas but he was adamant. Also went for an OSO cylinder. Gimmicky IMO. Can't see what's so special about them.

Nope. Not my wiring at all.

The sequence, as you know, is Programmer, stat, 2-port, boiler. I can trace 240V all the way through that sequence right to the switched live terminal on the boiler PCB. And cutting demand turns off that signal. Both circuits work. So not my wiring or any of the control train.

I am going to job in london in nw6 in the morning if you need help I will be happy to help you (no charge )

did you try and remove the swl and put back the link ? this is also a way to eliminate ext controls ?

The job is in E10 mate, a long way from NW6. And it's not my wiring at fault! 🙂 Could be a parameter setting, which I can work through with the manual. Thanks for the offer though!

the link I posted i to clarify what I did mean by sfh or sf4 ( I typed it in to google and this link come along )
