Hi all, trying to replace a Victorian mixer tap head for bath as old one getting stiff. I've got cap off and taken screw out however can't remove handle (not budging at all!). Any advice?

The hot & cold pipes to my bath are 15mm, shouldn't they be 21mm. The hot water is feed from a hot water tank and is a dribble whilst the cold is very strong. Should I have the pipes changed to 21mm or would an electric pump on the hot water feed suffice? If fitting a pump, are they robust and...
I’ve got to take out an old acrylic 600mm wide bath and replace it with either a similar sized one or a shower. Has anyone any source of either a bath that’s up to 600mm wide and under 1700mm long or a shower tray that’s 600mm wide and 1000-1500mm long. Really struggling to find anything...
I’m looking to replace this shower tray for a bath with the front of it facing the right side of the picture. What do I need so the bath waste goes into where the shower trays waste currently is now?
Hi - need some assistance.
What tape do you recommend when doing belt and braces approach to stop water ingress against wall and bath?
I did see:
Orion 10m Waterproof Sealing Tape on victoria plumbing.
Thanks.
The hot tap of a bath shower mixer has fine yellow sand like grit coming out, check all other taps in the house, this is the only one - combi boiler so no water tanks. Any ideas?
Hi,
I'm having a new bathroom installed and having issues getting the right bath/shower set up. Shower has to be over bath as no space for a seperate one. We have kids who have baths and need it to be easy for them to rinse their hair during them. AT present we have a lovely Victorian style...
Hi everyone. We have installed a new shower kit (over the bath). Not touched the bath mixer taps (thermostatic mixer) other than to replace the old hose with a new hose. Ever since, we have not had hot water in the bath taps. Not even warm, just freezing cold. Is this going to be an expensive fix?
Vado celcius 2 way divert bath filler or shower, fed by salamander pump, water pressure and temperature to shower outlet works perfectly well, when diverted to the bath filler water output pulses. all input valves , cartridge and diverter valve replaced but issue still remains. Shower in ensuite...
Hello - am hoping someone out there can offer some advice...
I've been living in a split level 1st & 2nd floor masionette for two months, which was built in the 60's.
Heating is provided via combi boiler. Water for kichen is fed straight from the mains supply (both hot and cold), however, we...
I'm probably missing something obvious, would welcome any suggestions on how I get access to the washers.
We have a matching bathroom suite and the bathroom sink mixer was a breeze to fix. The top of the taps popped off easy enough and the "collars" could be removed to expose a nut to unscrew...
Looking at a particular range (Vernis) of Hansgrohe taps and mixers. A 2 function bath mixer seems readily available but can only find a 1 function shower mixer. I will have a shower head and a separate hand shower so wanted a 2 function setup so I can switch between the two.
Can I use the...
Guys I have read the labc advice on notching and I’m all ok, I have calculated a max 38mm notch allowed but that isn’t going to allow for my 1” 1/2 pvc.. what an earth do I do? Notch really needs to be 42mm deep
Thanks!
I have a freestanding bath with claw feet, the overflow, shallow waste and outlet are all exposed and chrome. The pipework will then go under the floor which will be tiled and finished before the bath is fitted. How do I connect the chrome pipework that is above the floor to the pipework that is...
Got what is probably a simple issue if you know how.... getting as far as the ceramic cartridges so I can get them out, measure, and hope they are still a currently available size and if not see if I can dissolve out any. I'd just change the tap but would involve removing tiling, cupboards that...
I have a freestanding bath to install - modern variety but with standard bath taps rather than floor standing. Has anybody done this and how did you connect the taps? Is there a tool or sequence which allows tightening of the taps?
