Ok I have been dealing with this problem for over a year and finally have to ask for some help as backflushing every 2 weeks or so is getting very tiresome.
I live in a 60's flat (3 flats per side of the block so 6 flats in all) with two overhead water tanks in a tankhouse on the flat roof for...
Afternoon all, I’ve recently started getting a loud vibration coming from the cold feed. Only when I’ve got the hot tap on. Any ideas what it could be? I’ve managed to stop the vibration by turning the blue valve slightly. Thanks in advance.
Hello,
I have just installed a new shower which works well, however if you open a hot tap anywhere else in the house the shower runs cold, however if I open a cold taps the temperature does not change. I believe my shower is only a mixer not thermostatic did not do my research when buying the...
Hi all,
I recently re pressured my mega flo, isolated water then drained water into tundish etc.
Turned on hot water tap and no water coming out. I turned on cold water two and the water pressure and flow is ok.
Does anyone know why there is no water coming out of the hot tap? Thanks
Mitsubishi Ecodan 2011 8.5kw
Hy Guys, I have just installed a second hand ecodan, all seemed to be going well until i noticed that the flow temp doesn't increase much, infact 2 degrees in 40 mins, then the pump shut off with a over temperature warning on the gas side.
I have it piped up to a...
Afternoon all - We have a problem with very little/no cold water flow on the ground and first floor of our (fairly new build, 7 years old) 3 story town house. All flow is fine on the top floor and the hot water is unaffected and runs throughout the house.
It's an unvented, balanced system...
Our newly bought house doesnt have a filter on the combi and most of the radiators (microbore) dont heat up at the bottom which im putting down to sludge and other gunk
i intend to fit a filter (not sure which 1 yet) and run some clearer through it (fernox f3 has been recommended)
i am also...
Hi, I've seen a few posts about not using mains cold with gravity fed hot.
Ours is only about 0.1 bar for the hot.
The reasons given vary from possible backflow into hot cylinder to hard to get a good mix.
In that case how does the kitchen mixer tap work - that mixes gravity hot and...
Hi all,
My mates recently bought a new old house and has had extensive work done including new bathrooms etc. We've got a few questions about the hot and cold water distribution. The house is supplied by cold water at around 3 bar, so decent enough pressure. The way it's set up at the moment...
Morning all, ok so since having a new Worcester greenstar 8000 combi installed I’ve been struggling to get constant hot water… it runs hot for a minute or two then cold then hot etc.
the system has been power flushed, magnacleansed, radiators agitated (very little sludge came out) it has mesh...
Having issues with water hammer, I have a megaflo with balanced hot / cold using a heat stadia 3 bar prv, this seems ok as getting 3 bar at taps with test gauge, the outside tap is between the house incoming stop valve and the 3 bar PRV and that is showing just over 4.5 bar. If I switch a hot...
So getting a digital shower and it says the hot and cold water should be balanced. Am I right in thinking they should already be balanced with the hot taking on the cold pressure entering the boiler or am I way off?
Cheers
Recently 2 of my showers stopped producing hot water following a plumber refitting another of my ensuites. The 2 showers in question are pumped with a Salamander twin house pump. Hot is reaching the showers (hot feed to mixer is hot), yet both showers are luke warm, at best. The other recently...
We've had a new dishwasher delivered - Hisense HS661C60WUK - and I'm having trouble connecting it to the cold water supply.
It just won't screw on all the way. Threads don't look damaged to me. Looks like it's some sort of anti-flood hose (?) which I've never used before. No info about this in...
Hi all,
I just learned the external pipes for boiler system should be insulated especially in loft and garage as they are in very cold area. I checked my loft and found some pipes are insulated but others are not! I think it is because the insulated pipes are from previous owner's, since I...
I’m hoping someone can help me. I’ve had a bathroom installed, and the whole process has been a nightmare. The plumber has now disappeared, and left things half finished. Some stuff I can sort (toilet and towel rail not actually being secured to the floor, bath not sealed around, leaking bath...
Having just moved into a property and discovering the central heating not functioning, after 3 months we eventually was able to get the property management to have one of their heating engineers attend. He was literally here 10mins and in the loft space for 2mins, where he stated he discovered...
Hello,
I have a had a gravity boiler replaced from a Potterton 80e to a more recent Valliant ecoplus boiler.
The cold water tank is in the loft space directly above the 1st floor bathroom and the hot water copper immersion tank is in the 1st floor bathroom cupboard space. A fairly normal...
