Yes it me again with another question. I keep reading that one will get a better flow rate in an S plan than in a Y plan. Now I can see that being valid if both heating and hot water are called for but if only one surely the flow rate will be the same for both plans?
Finally are there any makes...
Hello,
This is my first time posting as I'm a new member so apologies in advance if this has been covered before.
I have recently done a landlords gas check at a property with only 1 gas appliance (heat only boiler) and ended up condemning it as it was ID for many reasons. The landlord asked...
My Son has a problem with rads not getting hot and we think it may be caused by either the flow or return pipework. He has 2 rad on his living room one is hot and one is cold. Fig 1 is how the pipe work is currently, both the flow and return have tee connectors feeding the rads, the first rad is...
Hi,
I have a 3 year old shower and the water has stopped flowing through yesterday, mid shower.
The RCD has not tripped.
The pull chord in the bathroom is on and the light is showing.
The on light is green on the shower.
I tested the on switch on the shower itself and it is definitely clicking...
I need advice about diagnosing why our Triton shower is stuck on max flow, with the flow control dial not responding, please.
It switched on/off ok with no leaks. The filters were clear, but there is a lot of black spot inside the whole unit. Temperature is also good
It's a Triton IPS Thermo...
Alright so we made a bit of a mess the other day. Pulled the washing machine out and the pipe snapped off the back of it and flooded the place. It was connected to the pipe on the right. It had a stopcock on it identical the the blue circled one, but turning it wouldn't shut the water off so it...
Hi.. Advice please regarding a new Worcester Bosch 8000 Life 35 for a 4 bed detached with ensuite and currently powerful shower which is great. We currently have an old High Flow 400 . I understand heat output will be the same on a 40 / 45 / 50 model but will the 35 be sufficient especially...
I have a shower mixer tap on bath, flow on left temperature right but leaking from temperature control on right side, found a replacement but the flow and temperature reversed, is that ok
Hi, looking to fit a sink, with a dishwasher located next to it and a washing machine about 1.5m along.
I was thinking of teeing off the one waste pipe and sticking a stand pipe with trap on for both the dishwasher and one for the washing machine. Would this be preferable or should I just use...
good morning
I’ve got a triple shower valve. The cold flow is fine, but There’s just no pressure of flow from the hot.
looking at the valve the silver part is stopping the valve rotate any more left which is the way for hot.
is that why I don’t have much hot? the kitchen taps are fine...
Im planning on how to fit a concealed shower valve into a paramount wall which has a narrow cavity depth(35mm)
Luckily the rear face of the wall is in the hw cylinder cupboard so i plan to have part of the valve coming through to the cupboard then boxing it in.
If i do this the position of the...
Hi, I am a DIY plumber and was going to change the mixer tap in the utility room (the old kitchen from the 70's) and I am puzzled by the cold flow.
On the image starting from the pipes in on the bottom of the cabinet. On the left is hot, on the right is cold. The cold services the tap and the...
I’ve recently moved into a bungalow with an open vented central heating system installed in 1987 with 8mm microbore running to the 10 radiators. One of the radiators needs replacing as it’s got a small corrosion pinhole in the body and we wanted to fit a larger towel rail anyway. Having gone...
Hi
I was having an issue with my outside tap, where if I turned it on too far the pressure and flow would suddenly be reduced to a trickle. Replacing the tap didn't make any difference. I've found where the pipe joins the cold water feed, and just after the isolation valve, there's another...
Water pressure static is 8bar. Working pressure (if that's the term) is 6bar. Flow rate from cold water is 28-29L/min.
Now this seems good (to me) but reading some suggested figures for ratings at different outlets, my readings seem almost dangerous by comparison.
What should I be aiming for to...
I understand that its normal for output flow from a combi to reduce when the inlet cold water flow is reduced (when other outlets are opened) but is there a method/process/configuration that can be adopted to minimise the effect in the the drop in flow and in doing so, provide a priority flow...
Caveat: I don't do boilers so no idea about them. My flow switch comment is pure guesswork based on zero understanding.
If I turn my kitchen mixer tap on hot, fully on, cold fully off, about 75% of the time the combi fires up and produces hot water for a bit but will then cut out. I am not...
