I fitted this titanium element a few months back. It has been working fine until called by the customer following the thermostat tripping. Subsequent inspection shows a small leak inside the element connections, though, I could not see any evidence of water around the thermostat so...

This is a real pet hate of mine, the immersion heater quality seems to be really poor these days! I often have to keep going back to any new immersion elements that I have installed either next day or a few weeks / month later to see the tiny overheat button has popped???
I will reset & turn...
I've got a Swedish buffer cylinder as part of my ground source heating system. I'm trying to find an immersion heater with a 2" bsp thread for a sensible price. Everything in thus country seems to be 2.25" bsp.
Any advice gratefully received!
Thanks

Hi all,
Just a quick one. I have a customer who wants to replace their existing top of cylinder immersion heater (27") with a longer one. They want to use their solar PV system to heat as much of the water in the cylinder as possible basically.
I've found 36" ones online which will obviously...
My boss has sent me on a job today to fit a fused spur for an immersion.
I said it needs its own circuit.
He said no it doesn't as its only 3Kw.
Is this true?
I'm sure the regs are that if a water heater is in a tank of more than 15 litres it needs a separate circuit.
Hi guys and gals.
Replaced an Immersion Heater about 8 months ago. No problems.
Few months later stat went faulty (cut out)
Then few weeks later again... Stats cut out again.

To test a standard open vented immersion stat (only), you put your multimeter set to continuity across the terminals. I've read in a couple of places that you should get...
Hi guys, this system is in a 2 storey apartment with cylinder upstairs. It is the type of cylinder with the f and e tank built in so no header pressure. Bathroom is on same level and the hot water pressure is low at the bath and non existent at the sink. At this point I am unsure of the routing...

I've got a problem with immersion heaters just keep randomly tripping even though they work perfectly 99% of the time and even on brand new immersions that I have left to heat up and checked the temperature.
They keep going on the thermal cutouts which are built in, I swear they are just not...
I fitted a new cylinder and wired up an immersion before Christmas went back out this morning as her hot water had stopped working.
I thought it had just tripped out on the stat as they usually do but the wire from the thermostat to the element had burnt out completely.
Could it be a power...
