I have moved a boiler in a property and the have open planned the kitchen living room and have 3 tall radiators in the room in each corner. The rads have trvs. If I put the room stat in this room do I need to take off the trvs and replace them with lock she ads or do I only need to do one of the...
Happy Friday chaps
Further to my thread the other night about refurbishing a block of seven or eight flats. At present the meter situation is a bit hit and miss.
Owner has expressed his preference that all the metrs should be in A communal cupboard in the lobby of the block. I...
I was always lead to beleive that putting neutrals, in room stats on combis or conventional systems, helped the stat perform better. But today the guy that was helping me reckons it nonsense. After reading the instructions again , I think he might have a point.
Hi,
I'm hoping somebody could offer some advice. we have an underfloor heating system in 2 rooms (seperate zones, thermostat in each) it works fine in the first room but in the second room it doesn't get warm. what is confusing is the return feed for this room is hot so water is running...
Have a job in a workmans type hall, rip out old and fit complete new heating system (15/16 rads)
Don't really like the idea of a room stat behind the bar, or out in the open (I know they can be tamper proof)
Is there a remote sensor type which is adjustable remotely?
Need to find a solution for a pub that has 2 linea 28 se boilers installed they want wireless room stats for the Lounge and bar. Vokera weren't much help on the phone.
Got a customer with ufh wants the stats chaging from wired to wireless. Long story!! But off the top of my head i cant think. Is it as simple as getting say 5 salus rt300rf ? And wiring the bases into where the old stats are conected ?
I rang local ufh place and they said oh no since its...
Can anyone tell me what wireless controls I can use on this boiler please.
Unvented cylinder if that makes a difference.
Programmer downstairs. No room stat anywhere.

Hello all,
just a qick one, are you considering Nest as a good room stat? Is the price worth buying it ? Just seen it few months ago and wanted to know what's your opinion about this particular product.
if not what's the alternative, what sort of stats you recommend or love to install based...
Hi All,
I have installed UFH in my kitchen extension. Problem is to get it started. I can feel that hot water is going trough pump, but no heat water is coming back. So I thought either it's connected wrong or I have a air in the system. Please see file attached with pipework explained. So this...
Alright guys? Just a quick one.
If there is 2 open flued fires in the same room, totalling 13kw combined, but the room used to be 2 rooms eith the dividing wall now removed, does it now need a vent?
Or is adventitious air still applicable as it used to be 2 rooms?
Went to a job today reporting of no heating. Heating only boiler with a cylinder for dhw - s plan.
After creating demand on the water, confirmed the pump and boiler was fine.
After testing I found the wireless receiver to be at fault - I bridged the common to the call and ran the heating, all...
Some have it, some don't, but can anyone please explain why? What does it do? As the stat is a simple on/off switch.
I fit Honeywell two-wire ones normally so I've never really had to think about it except when replacing stats like-for-like but would like to understand the principle..
Cheers!
Just to reiterate, Croppy said it was cool to ask gas questions in here as I'm doing my gas at the mo.
Well, I've passed all my exams and practicals, I just need to do my portfolio.
Anyway..
How do you tell if, say a boiler for example, is room sealed or open flued (if the open flued boiler...
I have a problem with noise travelling through the extraction system in a house, going from one room and travelling along the pipework into another room. Not ideal as you can hear people on the other room including in the bathroom too! Is there any way I can insulate against this at all?
Hi Guys - just a quickie!
I'm aware that a TRV shouldn't be fitted to a rad in a thermostat-controlled room, but does that apply to all rads, when more than one is fitted in the room - regardless of how they may be proportioned?
Cheers
Ideal Logic Plus 35 or Ideal Independent Plus 35? - both fit into the existing boiler space so which one would you recommend?. Am I right in saying that internally thiese are identical and the only difference is in the outer casings? Is the price difference worth it and if so -why?
2. Best...
Can someone confirm please I'm correct in thinking if you have 2no rads in the same room you only put a trv on one of the rads? If so what's the science behind this and is it also a building reg recommendation ?
Hi folks,
I'm trying to work out drainage for garden room with 1 x toilet, 1 x basin, 1 x shower. Because the drain has to run several metres to get to the building, there is very little height to play with to connect into it.
I have attached a sketch of what I'm thinking of doing...
