I have a basin waste and a bath waste that ideally I would like to connect together - to empty into a hopper.
So can I connect a 32mm basin waste to a 40mm bath waste - if so using a reducer or is there some 32mm to 40mm T?
Or should I upgrade the basin waste to 40mm if possible?
Ideally...
Hello one and all.
Neighbours had a builder over this afternoon for a quote on their new conservatory. They thought we were out and the subject turned to our external waste stack in the back garden. It was recently fixed there to remove the internal waste stack from our small bathroom. Anyway...
Hi All
Hope your all doing good :)
I'm moving our kitchen about, so change all plumbing/electrics, everthing. It's all going well except for one plumbing point.
The sink was originally connected under floorboards (badly) to a 68/70mm caste iron pipe, but since sink location has changed I'm now...
I am looking for a basin waste and trap. I know the simple plughole and chain wastes are possibly the easiest to manage with but whats the next best - click clack ones?
As to traps - best to stick with the tried and tested S or P or go for a Macvalve...
Hi, Im hoping someone could give me some advice please. I'm new to this site so please forgive me if I'm posting incorrectly or in the wrong place. I am looking for advice on my neighbours bathroom waste pipe. I'll try to explain this as best as I can. Our neighbours house is set forward from...
The old shower waste that was removed from the bathroom had a section where the waste went from 40 up to 50mm with an adapter. The pipes were run above floor and boxed in. Along a 2.5mish run
There was this part just before the transition from 40 to 50 mm
Going to be running my new shower...
Hi, first post here so hoping all the experienced plumbers out there can help!
My house was built 12 months ago and the location of the waste pipes under the kitchen sink take up a lot of space.
I was hoping to fit a bin in the sink cabinet and during construction when the kitchen went in I...
Hi All, I recently moved house and the waste pipe in my new home is significantly smaller than my last. It measures 25mm. I am having trouble decifering which sized spigot to get and I'm also having trouble finding anything smaller than 35mm (which bought and is too big).Pics attached. Advice is...
I managed to get the broken shower waste body out of the trap. I'm about to fit a new waste, a much more robust brass item.
The trap has a big rubber gasket designed to sit flush against the underside of the shower tray.
Is it a good idea for me to fit a rubber gasket between the flange on...
My shower had previously been repaired really badly before I moved in. The plastic retaining collar on the waste had broken off. Instead of repairing it properly and replacing the waste with a new one, someone used bathroom sealant to hold the trap in place and just plonked the broken collar on...
Hi, 1st fixing a house. Im looking at the blow valve for an unvented cylinder There's no external wall near the hotpress so I'm gonna run a waste pipe under the floor. It'll have a tundish so they can see if it's discharging.
What I'm wondering is if I can then tee that waste in with the pipe...
What hole size would you recommend drilling for 50mm waste pipe that needs to go through a joist?
Joist is 200 deep so a 55mm hole is already a bit over the recommended size for that joist.
Hello, I am looking to move some waste pipes in my house as I will be relocating a washing machine.
My question is what size waste pipe do I have. I have measured with a gauge and get 56.08mm on the outer diameter.
My understanding was the common sizes are 32, 40 and 50mm,
I am aware there...
Is it acceptable to plumb the waste from a dehumidifier into to a waste pipe. It has a 9mm pipe with it for the waste. I was thinking of putting this on to an appliance connector waste Fitting then screwing onto a hepVo trap. A washing machine upstand maybe unadvisable incase it isn't used for a...
Hi, looking to fit a sink, with a dishwasher located next to it and a washing machine about 1.5m along.
I was thinking of teeing off the one waste pipe and sticking a stand pipe with trap on for both the dishwasher and one for the washing machine. Would this be preferable or should I just use...
I have a long waste pipe run that is out side of the recommended distance of 4 meters for 50mm pipe. It only has one appliance on it. But because of the length of the run I want to stop self syphonage of the trap. Is there any benefit of fitting a trap with and anti vac adapter or anti vac...
Hi, can anyone advise on where to get a replacement smaller unslotted waste for an old cast iron bath please? The existing waste appears to be 1 1/4 BSP, not 1 1/2 as you'd expect. I'm including some photos of the existing installed bath waste next to a new 1 1/2 BSP waste to show the...
Hi, the pop up plug system has broken and needs replacing. I would like to replace the whole lot. My issue is trying to remove the waste drain cover from the bath isn't what I'm expecting. There is no screw holding the trap to the plug section in the bath. As the bath is fiberglass, I don't want...
A few years ago I had to replace my old, 1960's downstairs loo as it had a crack in it. I was told that, because the waste pipe went down into a hole in the concrete floor and because of the distance of that hole from the back wall (20cm), I'd need a loo with a concealed cistern in a large...
