15/22mm internal compression reducers

Hey does anyone else every have trouble getting 15/22mm internal compression reducers to seal. The type that usually come with pressure reducing vales . Compression 22mm x 15mm Internal Reducer - Mr Central Heating.

I am right in saying you discard the normal pipe olives when using these?

leaving the olive in is probably why you dont get a seal 🙂

You discard the olive that comes with the fitting and only use the reducer yes

Plenty of paste usually sorts it.

I prefer this type also

Out of the two options, I prefer the olive type, but they're both nasty in my opinion.
If possible I'll use a reducing coupler and go into the compression fitting with the size of pipe that was intended for it.

Got put off these when one sheared, split and leaked everywhere.

The problem for me with them is when I open the pack up with my clumsy hands all the bits scatter off in every direction so I spend 10 minutes looking for them.

I used to like them reducers... find them a PITA now though.

Plenty of jet lube on em, I usually put them in a 22 ballofix when I'm reducing down
