Looks like it has the guts to be used as a core drill and if you have Makita 18v kit anyway seems like a good alternative to Bosch or Makita 36v.

the 36v cir is very good. I like this idea from makita, the x2 tools are quite cheap so its a no brainer for a makita 18v user if he/she want a bigger tool for certain jobs.

they also have a 36v vac thats the dogs nuts.
