Hi all,

I am looking to retrain and I have come across this course "diploma in gas utilisation installation and maintenance: water heating and wet central heating (qcf)"

has anyone completed this diploma? if so, whats your thoughts on it?

once i have completed the course, will I become fully qualified and able to work?

The course is one full day a week for a year and will cost 5k, which I have applied and been accepted for a loan from student finance.

What are my options after finishing this course? Will I be able to work for a company or would I need to go self employed? Would I need to get a job to finish off a portfolio?

sorry for all the questions, I am extremely new to the industry.

all information is very welcome and thank you in advance for your reply.

They are the questions you should be asking the course provider.

I would be asking the questions and requesting written answers prior to handing over any money.

No.

A training course alone isn't enough to work safely and competently.
You'll need to work with other people to gain onsite knowledge.

That'll be the hard part, finding someone who will further train you and trust that as soon as you're reasonably competent that you won't disappear and work for yourself.

Any qualification would need to be NVQ based or you won't get employment.
