Hey chaps, I need to connect into a tee of a terrain soil stack and am wondering if this iw possible with the floplast soil fittings you get in plumbfix. Another query, the soil pipe cross sections you get, where can you use them as I am a bit short of space and need to install 2 wc's. And this would make life easy but the regs state they have to entet stack 200mm from centre to centre. So, what is this cross piece for?

Cheers fellers. I hope you understand what I am talking about

Not sure what you are asking ? are you talking about a cross branch ie two 110 connection into one stack directly opposite each other ? if so they can be used in the vertical only.
What material is the Flo-plast made from if it is uPVC then it can be solvent welded.

If its on show, then the colours will be very different. Terrain grey is several shades different and much glossier than the floplast colour.

Why not just use polypipe system 2000?

This is the space I have. I need to install toilets either side of that branch there. Am not sure if I have space for another branch and a elbow. So was wondering if I could use a cross section. But won't if I can help it as they cost.

Oh yes, I need to look up polypipe s2000

I found lots of strange things on this job. None of the old 1 1/2 inch waste pipe was glued. As soon as I touhed it it fell apart. I cannot believe it never leaked. Also, I found a swept 1 1/4 inch tee going into a 1 1/2 connector on branch. And two 1 1/2 waste pipes connected to th other ends. I hope this makes sense

chris whats wrong with fernco rubber couplings? i used one the other day for the first time. are they not so good? can i expect a call back? haha
actually it wasnt a coupling it was a reducer (clay to plastic)

That is what they were developed for & IMHO that is where they belong - underground & surrounded with concrete - bloody rubber & jubilee clips.
signed old fart.

And we all know how much consideration goes into the quality of new builds!

I'm with Chris, they're a problem waiting to happen.

Worm drive clips and a tube of rubber? yer, answer to all plumbing problems? Never worked in the past never work for the future. Thats my personal view point.

God evening fellers. Hope you're all having a good night. I am back at the nursery this week and am still struggling to figure out a way to connect two toilets into the grey branch. One on the left and one on the right. I thought I might have been able to use a swept tea and an elbow but as you can see from the pics below there is not enough room. So can you get short branches? Ones without boss connections in. I don't really fancy having to take the concealed stack apart to conbect into it. I am already losing money on this job

Leave it.....

Use a cross tee or whatever they're called and mcalpine make these non return flaps that you can put on pan cons.

Don't see why you couldnt use it here, you would have to fit the no return things I was saying to stop **** flushing from one toilet to the other
🙂

Cut the solvent branch down to 1" and cut the spigot of your new branch to suit. Cut the end socket down to 1" and cut a 4" blank down to suit then glue it in. Cut the boss adapter off if it is pis ing you off too. Great things saws

Btw if you speak to your merchant they will get a branch made up in any configuration you like as a 1 off. Costs about £50

Ha ha. It is annoying that boss connection. the terrain branch only has about an inch on it already. I have never seen these one way thins. Mcalpine hey, I shall have to have a look. Wow I could get it built. Impressive. Is that the case Ray Stafford? I still can't find any info on that s2000 stuff. Do you have a link? Also Ray, can you guys get hold of one of those fold down baby change things?

Tamz, you come up trumps agan. You're a legend. I thought I would give hour method a go and cut down all fittings. And no way wee man...it worked. It just fit with literally mm to spare. Thanks for all the help guys. Oh photo to follow. System, before you say anything, the flexi you see is temporary. He he

Am actually just sitting down now with a wee dram of a nice scotish whiskey called royal lochnager. Deserved after a victory today with the advice of a scot. What a whiskey by the way. You should all try it some time

Sorry Mutley, only just seen this post.

To be honest, getting a branch built is a new one on me, although I know that a number of the rarer branches are hand-made. You only have to look at them to see that the main body is a different fitting, and an adaptor has been solvented on, so I guess it must be possible.

Polypipe System 2000 - link here - pages 6 and 7. We don't sell a lot of it, but there are patches of the country where Terrain used to be popular, particularly in London, where it gives a good match. There are also a couple of fittings in the S2000 range that they don't make in the ring-seal range which can get you out of trouble in a tight spot.

The baby change thing we have already dealt with by PM. Sorry I missed seeing the question here.

Where there is a will there is a way

Never tried that one i'll need to look it up. Thanks.

I used to get stuff made from Hepworths Ray. When you see them they are like they are made by some boy with a holesaw and tube of gap filler

Yep, that sounds like some of the more obscure polypipe ones. Not exactly a thing of beauty, but I guess they must work. 🙂
