Is it possible to use a back boiler by incorporating it into a combination boiler so that the combination boiler basically has a preheater and still pumps the water around the system, only difference is that the burner will not kick in as the water is already at temp.

It would be easy to do the radiator side by using the backboiler as a radiator but would it need a vented or unvented cylinder as a hot water reservoir for the water side.

Trying to get an idea of costs involved.

Thanks

Shane

lots of safety implications and u wouldnt use a combi with a cylinder, get a good plumber in who knows solid fuel systems and gas and prepare for a rather big bill for the work, after all your repeating the heat source twice. plus wood burners and unvented systems dont go together as your using an uncontrolled heat source. see similar thread nearby
