hi chaps

fitted a new baxi solo today and was having a flick through the manual.

on page 14 it says the pump only needs wiring directly back to the boiler if its fully trv'd.

any one know why this is?

so trv's shut down, no bypass.... wheres the pump pumping to????

round the system eg pipe

those pipes lead to radiators.
if there shut it won't go round them.
thats why you have a bypass
but they say don't fit one.

the pump would pump round them just the pipes (main circuits)

just though I'd let you know

phoned baxi the reason it has to wired back to the boiler on a fully trvd system is that if the trv's shut down the pump will shut off as the flow switch is cut off due to no water flow.
If the pump is wired to the switch live then pump keeps running and can create noise as it has nowhere to go. there is also no pump overrun on this boiler

A flow switch on heat only boiler is an added complication. Is this becoming the norm for other boilers.
