I am asking for some advice due to a potential boiler replacement at a property. The boiler is located in the loft of an empty house. Central heating system full and the boiler had been switched off during the recent cold spell. Both central heating and mains completely frozen throughout the house and the magnetic filter housing has also cracked.

I appreciate its best for someone to inspect, but before this gets done, is there any advice on here regarding potential problems. Is it usually a case of replacing the boiler or can parts replacement be a more financially viable option?

thanks!

One thing to add is the cost of some parts are eye-wateringly expensive. If the boiler is still in production, or if you state the make and model someone might be able to advise a direct replacement.
