What is a swag on a gas pipe guys ?
CheersUsing expanders to create a socket
That's swage, but swag is what burglars carry in a sack 🙂Using expanders to create a socket
It’s old school🙂Cheers
Lol , I have never heard that before .

Someone's been watching too much pbplumber on Instagram! I personally don't like swaging. Think it thins the already thin walled copper.
It’s old school🙂
Yep me too , jesus wept, fittings cost sod all .
You must have heard it called flaring copper before surely? That's what I always knew it by until seeing 'swaging' on social media
Common practise now't wrong with it as long as your GSR that is. 1 solder ring instead of 2 saves time and money. But then again I am a thoroughbred Yorkshire man. Short arms - Deep pockets 😀😀
Don't believe it saves time at all.
Decent fitter pb, almost as good as me. He loves to promote the latest gear tho. Swear he's sponsored by the sheer amount of kit he has

What are your copper tube wall thicknesses?
We measure our pipe OD.
1/2" - 0.91 mm
3/4" - 1.02 mm
1" - 1.22 mm
We always expand copper ( swage ) and have never had too many issues
I dont think your allowed to use a mandrel to swage the pipe as it alters its thickness.
I think 15mm is 0.7, and 0.9 for 22mm, so a bit thinner than your stuff. I'd be tempted to do it on water (it looks good), but only if I could get a squeeze-operated expander. Seen one in books, but not for sale. Can't be bothered to have to start hitting an expander with a hammer while supporting the pipe somewhow.Just out of interest - off topic.

The hand held expanders are terrible things. They split the side wall of the pipe immediately. They are too aggressive.
You must remember the old swageing tools had to knock them in with a hammer, but copper pipe back then was a lot better qualityTheres nobody more old school / old git than me lol
Just never heard it .
