Hi,
Current situation - recently moved into property (old farm house) with:
Oil fired Rayburn running 24/7 all year =££££'s. Rayburn also heats the kitchen and hot water (but I dont have it turned up enough to cook.)

Oil Potterton statesman boiler (20yrs old) heating 5 radiators in house, we haven't used this much during winter as cant really afford the oil.

Wood available for cost of time and chainsaw petrol.

3 young children in house = not much spare time.

after much consideration of woodburner boiler in kitchen/solar/combi boiler bearing in mind the cost of each would be to some how plumb in the central heating boiler to my hot water tank to give me hot water.

What my question is, what controls do I need and how will it work! the boiler as I can see it has an external pump and expansion vessel.
can you please help!!??

IMAG1353.jpgthis is the set up from the boiler. As you can see there is expansion vessel, pressure relief 15mm and a flow coming from the bottom of the photo and a return going off to the right. both go through the wall left to house. What is the link line above the pump? all gate valves are open. I cant think why there is here?

Not sure if I have read your post correctly, it sounds like you want the statesman removing, wood burner (with back boiler?) solar and a combi boiler (oil) all linking up to your existing hot water cylinder?

If you want to link solar, oil boiler and a wood burner with back boiler I would suggest a thermal store, sized correctly.

The pipe in the pic is a bypass I would think
