Hey Guys,

So i found myself one of these tenants that finds all the faults on one of our property's, after many repairs already a new fault has occurred.

The toilet cistern looks to have been replaced some time ago and it seems that the new system pipe is some 3-4 inches short and has been forced in as far as possible meaning the tank is pulling off the wall, but over time people sitting back on the the toilet pushes the tank back which results in the pipe exiting the pan and when flushed 6L of water all other the floor.

Now ive looked online to try locate a longer cistern pipe but seems they are 320mm as standard, i cant move the toilet back as its bottom entry soil pipe..

I was looking to extent the pipe using solvent weld and a connector but unsure that this is ok to do...

Any advise would be great..

Cheers

I'm guessing you mean the flush pipe on a low level type toilet?
If so (and you don't want to create a box behind the cistern to fill the gap)- solvent weld would be fine to extend the pipe, remember to give it a quick turn once inserted into the coupling to spread the solvent evenly.

JUST BUY A LONGER ONE there available from good merchants but you can extend will solvent pipe glue an coupler or make a new with solvent pipe

Far too simple an answer IMHO.
Whatever did we do before Internet forums.

Buy a length of 1 1/4" pipe. Swept elbow. Solvent weld not compression

I would also recommend a new sealing ring on syphon and new flush pipe seal for toilet connection(cone)

make it what ever size you want
