Hi
Am I right in thinking that a concealed shower in only practical for fitting beneath plaster board in a stud wall and not on a solid breeze block outer wall because of the depth of the mixer assembly?

Personally I think the surface mounted showers can be better looking and not much more bulky than the "built in" type. The outlet for hose is part of shower, so no silly plumbing for that also. And easier to service or replace in the future.

Definitely easier to service as well to change in case you've got an issue with the shower valve. The pita would be taking off tiles without having the same ones ... and not such big risk of a leak I side the wall
