Condensate pipe

I have an Ideal isar HE30 boiler, which I'm having a problems with, after searching net thought might be blocked condensate pipe, as water was backing up into the boiler, have removed the trap at the boiler end and water came gushing out, have now got it draining into a bucket. Thought the pipe might be frozen so tried pouring boiling water down the pipe, and it doesn't go anywhere, the route the pipe seems to take is straight outside, where all there is is a small (5 inch) piece of copper pipe bent down against the wall, it looks like it's connected onto white plastic pipe, but could it be the outlet to the PRV(?) instead?
Would like to fix it myself if poss, don't want to leave it dripping inot the bucket and also don't want to pay the £50 for BG to come out on my service plan.

have you Checked if the copper pipe has frozen?

it could be an outlet for the condensate and PRV

Lots of frozen condensate pipes at the moment - I pour hot water on them and tell customers to do the same.

Should the condensate drain straight outside so that it would run down the wall though? (my boiler is on the first floor) I've never seen any water come out of it and there is no sign of it on the wall (i.e green slime!)

If the condensate pipe is run internally into the same pipes that take the waste water from the toilet and sink would it mean that that my sink would be blocked too, as it isn't.

Could it be that the pipe is just blocked internally with deposits (this has happened before, but BG fixed) and if so what can you use to clear?

If it runs internally, it is likely to be blocked at the branch where it joins which explains why your sink isnt blocked.

Try and locate where it joins, open it up and clean it out.
