November 2014 I fit a Salus RT500RF for somebody.
They recently had a fault on their boiler and mentioned that the stat was also playing up, I was supposed to go there and never specified an exact tim but said most likely after the school run 3.30 onwards.
Received a text at 5pm asking where I was, I replied will be there within the hour.
30 mins later get a text saying they have an engineer round there already (thanks for letting me know as I'm on my way, unbelievable)
Anyway the engineer said that Salus are :nono: and now the tenant is giving it all the "its never worked since you fit it etc' 'give me a refund'
I have offered to replace the stat under the warranty but certainly not a refund from my own pocket after nearly 10 months.
Another engineer from the same company also slammed these stats to the customer and now even the offer of replacement isn't enough.
He has had the sat removed and a new one ordered by this guy from another company (for whom I have no good words to say after following their previous work and also securing contracts that they had failed to deliver on)
Any way I don't believe I am liable to give a full refund, does anyone agree, am i right to offer only a replacement under Salus's warranty?
