Evening chaps,

I was always taught that the rule of thumb is that the cylinder return should be the last tee before you head back to the boiler.

I was chatting to a guy today at a job who was adamant that it didn't matter. He has plumbed in four cylinders in a block of flats refurbishment and each one is before the radiators return re-joining the primary circuit.

Has he got it wrong or have I

cheers

Same, except when I use to do y plan conversions on gravity bbu,s. I just left the two returns where they were.

I am going to be the odd one out here and say the guy was sort of right.
Doesn't matter if the cylinder return is last tee, as long as if you do tee off for the radiators return between the cylinder return and boiler, that you ONLY tee off once and keep the connection from gravitating.
Problem with teeing off this way though, is some poor plumber in the future could easily make a mistake of adding a tee off for another radiator and mess the whole circuit up causing it to heat when cylinder is heating
