I'm new to this forum so hi everyone. My problem started after the cold snap when temps here plummeted to -15C continuously for about 2wks. Now my underfloor heating system was always gonna use more oil I know BUT we've noticed since Jan that the oil goes down alot quicker than it use to and it might be coincidence that it seems to have started post-coldsnap. Anyway recently my wife was chatting to a heating engineer who suggested that our pipes might be furred up as the house was built 5yrs ago. He then suggested that the pipes could be defurred so to speak using a particular process (this is the bit that confused my wife and shes not sure if she heard properly) that might involve magnetism. Can anyone help out there. I hear people thinking he may have an oil leak-well theres no smell of pungent homeheating oil and no evidence of it anywhere. I'm not sure how furred up pipes may cause more oil to be used but we could easily use 900 litres in about 6wks or less. This house is two and a half thousand sq ft and has underfloor heating top and bottom.😕
