I intend to install the washing machine in the detached garage which has a water supply, surface water drains but no soil drain. I have exposed the 110mm kitchen soil drain (see sketch) which is approx. 6 metres from the proposed site of washing macine. I would like advice on what is the best possible options and do's and dont's. ie can I run 40mm for the whole 6 meters from the garage to the exposed drain pipe. Can I use a strap on boss to attach it, or must the whole job be done in 110mm pipe with 40mm through the garage wall. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum blister. We can't see your drawing clearly but Part H of the Building Reg's states that the maximum run for a 40mm waste with a water filled trap creating the seal is 3 Metres, even if you increase it to a 50mm waste it is limited to 4M. The waste pipe should have a minimum fall of 18mm per Metre run (max 90mm) i.e. your 6M run should have no less 108mm fall from the stack connection to the inlet of the washing machine trap.
You could use a waterless trap or install an air inlet valve but with the length of the run it will more than likely block from time to time.
DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO USE THE SURFACE WATER DRAIN you can be prosecuted for polluting water courses.
