I have a flue outside my back garden door - it's dripping slowly and has been for a day or so. I am not sure what it is for, as my boiler is at the front of the kitchen. I do have a downstairs toilet, so it might be something to do with that - not sure.

Can someone tell me what this flue is for and why it is dripping? Is this an issue or is it normal?

Thanks - I attach a picture of the flue.

That's not a flue. That's the discharge pipe from your safety valve.

You need to get a gas engineer in. It's not a DIY fix.

Being 22mm it's got to be an unvented? so make sure the engineer you get in also has Unvented Hot Water certificate to be sure 🙂

I would say that was 22. It's probably undersized more than 8m! But hey NHBC you rock.

When doing cavity wall you can blast a 25mm hole easy between bricks on a bed joint.

Its 22mm because its alot bigger than the mortar,, if your on the computer enlarge screen a few times , but if the op could verify then that would be handy,,,

It ain't 22mm! Don't let the fact it's a larger picture fall you!

Look at the mortar joint. How thick would that be if that were 22mm pipe?

On our sites we cant use them we have to use an all over case. Im on my phone but when on laptop il post pic of it. The cages dont pass building control. Its not reg but construction company code of practice.

Yeah, we used to fit these cages on all our sites a couple of years back but now its changed. I have yet to see the new ones.
