I need to fix some heavy vertical radiators to a single course internal wall built from a slightly heavier then normal thermalite type block (Durox 7N) and also an external wall built from the same. I am uncertain whether sleeve bolts will hold or cause cracks in the blocks. I have considered drilling right through internal the wall and using coach bolts and square washers so a clamping type of fix is used. I'm not sure how to approach the external wall internal leaf, whether to use sleevebolts or not . Is there any types of bolt anchor designed specifically for this material which will not cause cracking or damage? Any help from anybody who has tackled this problem before would be appreciated.

why not use chemical fixings ive had the same problem with some rads on a dwarf wall below glazing any expanding fixings blew the top course of i think screwfix do the chemical ones now if not a good merchants should be able to get some or try a fixing center like hiltis as a last resort
only thing i would say is its important to get the hole the right depth and as clean as possible some kits come with a little air blower but ive used the manometer tube to blow dust out

No information about weight unless i find a means weighing them. The blokes delivering them could carry the on there shoulders with ease. I can lift them ok - but heavy!.
Will be heavier with water but low content.
There will be 2x rads per wall.

How do you use those resin kits do you put a load of resin in a hole and drill into it when it drys or just put some resin in a pre drilled hole then put the screw in?

you drill the hole, get out as much of the dust as you can, inject the resin, place the threaded rod into the resin and let it set.

Aw ok and that's a good solid fix? Iv never used resin. What if you need to fix into old stone and there is a large cavity could you fill it with pre mix and fix into that when its dry or would that not be strong enought for heavy radiators?
