Hi im currently doing Landlord gas safety certs for a letting agent and know that i will be coming across boilers in flats where the flues run in the voids. I spoke to gas safe to see where i can find the info on there website, but cant find the full document. I.e what size the inspection hatches need to be and how often the need to be. Can anybody help??

As above for the TB. In a nutshell, inspection hatches at least 300 x 300mm and no more than 1.5M from every join. Preferably either side of any bend.

I know a development where they installed keston boilers in the kitchens and the flues run straight a cross the front room ceilings

yes I think they start around £750.000 , with a load of access panels in the front room lol

Are we still saying if co alarm in room/s flue pass's through and no inspection hatch/s,then just NCS,until end of year

And you've followed the rest of the risk assessment ....

BTW, I hear through the grapevine that TB 008 is due for another update shortly.

Would not surprise me,think we can expect some watering down, once the construction industry catches up and looks at the costs and inconvenience

imho

IMHO, if what I've been told will change does actually change, then yes it is a watering down and places more onus on us, the engineers, rather than the householders.

The responsibility will, (like everything else) be passed on to the registered / traceable party
It makes my waste water boil
