got called to look at a new direct unvented cyl install last night, please would i sign it off?
turns out the installer got thrown off as 1st night after install the cyl flooded as he had connected the expn vessel to the balanced flow outlet of the combined valve blanked off the cold feed etc etc, leading to some issues.
when I looked the tundish was just off the floor having dropped 60-80cm fm where youd expect to see it, and it the dropped into a speed fit coupling before disappearing into a bit of overflow pipe in the concrete screed. It was obviously easier to use the old overflow outlet from the previous install! rather than grinding out a channel.
All in all interesting, pointed out errors and glad Im too busy to have to do any adjustments! why dont people (who are qualified, I know the installer) quote to do the job properly. the connection errors are understandable as the mfis are unclear but as for the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
