Local merchants having a trade for these boilers. only 4 moving parts and now offering 5 years part and labour. i'm quite interested in offering these to custs. has anyone got any experience installing these. and £599 and £630 + VAT inc flue clock . price seems reasonable as well.

I have never fitted a ferrolli, but serviced and repaired many.
After seeing them 3/4 years after install, I would not fit one.
Also while they are under warranty, if they go wrong, you have to pay them £170 up front for them to come out, and they keep the money if they find that the fault is due to bad installation. You can bet your bottom dollar it wont be the boilers fault.

My advice.... stay clear

I fitted a Ferrolli with a mate on here, we will never fit another. It was bad news all the way. The first time it broke we were told to check the pressure in the vessel. "No way, its a new boiler with 5 years warranty". Ferrolli's engineer came out at least three times because the prv kept blowing off. He replaced a number of components and in his words, he said Ferrolli's are rubbish. The boiler continued to blow off and the engineer was called out again; this time he checked the parameters in the PCB and I think that out of 14 parameters, all 14 had been set incorrectly at the factory and the boiler was allowed to ship to the merchants. Sez it all really or was this a one-off?

I fitted 7 dommicompact about 5 years ago leaks failed parts. I've replaced 5 of them for new combis

Had to fit one the other month...not bad to fit but you no its a cheap boiler by the feel....had to fit a plume kit which leaked like a sieve from the elbow & upstand, due imo to being upside down ( like a socketed soil pipe) & also poured out of the top, had the ferrolli people down who agreed with me that it was upside down & after 3 visits they sorted it....Cheap boiler...get what you pay for..

I've just fitted one. Flue was awful. Condense an absolute pain to connect. Required clearances round the thing are ridiculous 30cm required above the boiler.

i would never fit one...have repaired and replaced many...so thanks for the overtime Ferroli!

fitted one in the midlands the other day..what the ~#'@ is all i can say the flue is crap and honestly its just a heap of crap..god knows how the manufacturer is still up and running!

I've replaced a ferrolli today. Repaired two domicondece on Friday and had one fail today &£££££

Recently went to a trade evening, had a look at the new modena, fairly impressed. Ferroli seemingly have got a new Research & developement team on the modena & have used feed back from their engineers to hopefully improve the brand.
From my point of view being an independant service & repair engineer, they have simplyfied it, by using a double pass main heat exh, 28mm heating & 12mm dhw instead of using a plate w/w heat exch, operated by a flow switch. The cond trap seeems easy enough to clean & access generally easy, ntc's are dry clip on [honeywell?]. It has a main pcb & also 1 on the fan [which can be replaced independently]. My only reservation is that the fan is fitted directly onto the burner manifold, rather than below & connected wiith an air/gas tube [heat?].
Time will tell whether they have improved [ & they needed too], this could be a fairly decent budget boiler with a 5 year warranty.
Hopefully they'll back it up with good engineer support.

I had a look at these today too. am impressed, but warranty is 5 years parts and only 2 for labour. Fit intergas and will offer these as a cheaper alternative.

it now 5 years and labour according to the reps i spoke to from ferroli at the trade event i went to. will prob fit a few and see how it goes only problem with the intergas is that it doesnt have an integrated expansion vessel has to be fitted outside of the boiler.

thats what reps from remeha said to me, but when it comes down to it, its whats written down in the small print. I would want it in writing tbh.
intergas has a frame with exp vessel that goes on wall and boiler hangs off this and you buy it as kit 'A', but it can work out cheaper to put exp externally if its in say a utility room or garage.
Dont like exp at back of boiler tho', if it goes wrong its usually boiler off wall jobbie.
these modena's are nice an small an easy fit in a kitchen cupboard.
Asked rep bout connecting modulating controls but he went a bit quiet an changed topic. He emailed me mi's so am goin to check them out.
Also said fan circuit board is replaceable and bout 50 squid which i thought was a good idea
