Just saying hello
Have just started out on my own having been made redundant last year from an industry I had been in for about 12 years. I decided to retrain and yes I attended a Fast Track gas course. Now I know what a lot of you guys feel about these.
I started the course in June of last year ,6 weeks in the class room then 3 months unpaid work to gain porfolio(I did learn alot) .Sat ACS in November, registered with Gas Safe in January. I have applied for several gas related jobs but no company will touch you without at least 3 years experience. So since going alone (only option really) I have managed to do a few jobs, servicing, couple of boiler swaps, converting one from Y-Plan system boiler to combi, including fitting new timer & room stat & a few repairs. It has been costly to get going, van, tools,FGA,multimeter and a small stock of fittings but I feel given time word will get around and I will get more work. I am doing other work along side the gas and may pursue this further.

Cheers

Alan

Hi Alan and welcome.

Apart from the redundancy part I started exactly the same way as you. Hard work and patience to get going but now I sometimes wish I wasn't quite so busy.

Best of luck!!
