Gas Engineer
hello I'm Paul

I'm new to this and looking forward to meeting like minded guys and gals who have a healthy indifference to 15/16 year old apprentices (who's mummy thinks he/she is great and should be paid far more) and end of year tax returns.

I love my wife, my 3 kids, my dog called "bosco" and my 2009 V8 VW Touareg - although i'm not sure what order they would come :tt1:

I like doing triathlons (only started last year so complete baby to it) as they help alleviate the stress of having to explain to said apprentice for the 10th time on any given day that the arrow on a pipeslice is not the way you should rotate the copper - aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I also like beer and not very fine red wine. Something usually around £6 and 13.5% does the trick.

I like Worcester and Vaillant. I hate everything else. I fitted 40 Ferrolis in the wilderness years (gas only came to Belfast in 1996 and took a while to get up and running) so before 2005 were the wilderness years. The experience of having being allured by the beautifully sounding Modena 102 has put me off experimenting for good!!!!!!! - she turned out to be far from beautiful, pooped herself in the middle of the night and has broke my heart on many an occasion since. My two girls Worcester and Vaillant have turned out to be far more reliable bed fellows.

I do two gas conversions a week, mostly installing Combi's. Eco tec pro 28's. If I am installing an "s" pack I use either a worcester OV or systems. My 40kw is a worcester 40 CDi Classic Regular (rooooooooaaaaarrrr) and my favorite storage combi is the all singing all dancing "fridge" aka vaillant 937 which during commissioning one today it actually asked me for my phone number!!!! I kid you not - we are not far away guys from the boilers phoning us themselves - "my seals need changed!!!!!"

Anyways pleased to meet you all and let the knowledge sharing and good craic begin!!!!!

Paul

Brilliant first post! Except the sweary bits, consider your thighs slapped.

Welcome to the madhause!

Sgas or CCTS?

I have done all my training with SGAS and Bob!!! I was there last year doing some work on LPG and Charles was still there.

I think Bob splits his time between Belfast/Liverpool

Gerry Mc Manus is a legend and a friend of mine. I did my initial CCN1 with him way back before he jumped ship. He's doing great
