Collectors

Hi, I have an LPG tank with an old fashion & small needle gauge, so when the boiler was being serviced the gas man fitted a U6 meter that reads in cubic meters so we could monitor our gas usage.
The meter was 00000,00,0 & after 10 days now reads 00016,66,7 . So I assume that I have used 16.6 litres of LPG & when the second zero gets to 1, I will have used 1 cubic meter of gas (1000 lt) is this correct?

Many thanks

Chris

You've used 16.667 cu mtrs

Thats what i though & what was throwing me out. But! i think there is 1000 lt to 1 cubic meter & my main tank is 2400 lt so i am assuming that i cant have used over half a tank in 10 days with the heating on for only 2 hours a day?.

The meter is measuring vapour.
You're thinking Liquid.

Multiply contents by around 270 to get vapour.

If I remember right it takes about 4lts lpg to make 1M3 of gas, so your using around 6'6 lts per day or about 2400 lts per year, just multiply the 6.6 by what you are paying per ltr If I'm wrong daresay someone will correct me

Ah! That might explain a few things, but i am not quite with it yet. We paid on the last fill up 47p a litre, would you know if there is a calculation that works out 47p a litre to 1 cubic meter of vapour, so i can say what each cubic meter costs me.
You say Multiply contents by around 270 to get vapour, but i am not sure of my tanks contents. (apart from 1/2 full)

My last post went out after yours.
so if i work on my last meter reading of 16.6 CM x 6.6= 109.56 x 47p = £51.49 div 16.6 = £3.10 per vapour cubic meter.

If my sum is correct

Many thanks

Chris

Not sure if mine is right 4Lts of LPG = 1 cubic Mtr of gas x .47p = 6.6 Lts per day = £3.10 per day I stand to be corrected !!

Approx 3.6 ltrs LPG = 1cu mtr vapour

So 1 cu mtr has cost you 3.6 x 47p = £1.69

16.667 over 10days = 1.6667 cu mtr per day or £2.81 per day

I have been known to be wrong, but I divorced her over 25 years ago.

So we both agree its costing him on average £3.00 per day
