My name is Beckie and I'm a 31 year old from Plymouth..

i have just just completed level 1 access to building services engineering and am currently working towards my level 2 qual. Being the ripe ol age of 31 I am finding it exceptionally hard to obtain an apprenticeship in the plumbing industry. I wonder if anyone local to Plymouth has any sort of trainee positions / apprentice positions.?

I am am extremely dedicated and hard working, I served our country in the armed forces for 7 years so I have many life skills that I can apply to the role.

I currently am a lone parent, I attend City College Plymouth full time and I am a self employed cleaner part time.

I hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have my own vehicle.

Any hints, tips and advice would be very very much welcomed.

Hello Beckie. I wonder if you have had any luck? I am considering a career change at 35. I have no experience and I am thinking of taking the plumbers mate course in Edinburgh. It's C&G 6035. I don't know if it's worth it i.e. makes me employable.

I'd love to hear how you're doing. Also if female plumbers have been interested in hiring you. Thx!
