high level flush pipe leaking

hi, i got a customer who has a really old toilet with a high level toilet cistern. the flush pipe is leaking.
you can buy a flush pipe kit which are quite deer or would it be easier to fit a low level plastic cistern to existing toilet?

why dont you just change the seals/bungs put a bit plumber gold etc on?

Plastic High level flush pipe kit is dirt cheap - I don't want to post a price on the open forum, but I have paid more for a coffee and a biscuit!

customer thinks its old fashioned. so was just asking to way up options of things to do .

it is entirely possible that the toilet pan may not clear properly with a lower cistern. probably have to change whole toilet imho

plumbers gold is excellent, it is very thick silicone like stuff

the leak was on the actual flush pipe where to the two pipes connect together. don't think no solvent weld was applied. so took apart cleaned and dried applied solvent weld job done.

basically its your best friend, I use it for traps tank connectors syphons etc but you can seal anything you want to seal really and you can test for leaks straight away.

Apart from drinking water. Not that there is much you should need to seal with that on a main i would of thought.
