U know me. I'm the lanny fanatic from Yorkshire, nit very tall, borderline metrosexual, tool junkie, ex rocket scientist turned normal.

Hurdy, as I’ve said in the past, been there, still am, and share your worry.

My mum’s back in hospital , hip problem, they won’t operate, as it’s “old age” and I suppose the cancers taken its toll on her too, perhaps the op would be too much for her.

Dad: A few months back, was given a “do not resuscitate” he pulled through

Father-in-Law’s:
in Chacewood House: a home for dementia patients, as he started setting fire to the house and leaving the gas on, there was no option but to put him there.
Cost over £2,000 a month which they take from his house.

Mother-in-Law’s got to go in for a full hysterectomy as they found a dark solid mass within her.

Brother-in-Law’s wheelchair bound: progressive multiple sclerosis.

When I wake up.I get up; could be 3am , 4am whatever.
Sleep doesn't come easy.

Share your pain bud.

Jesus wetdrip ( sorry I don't know your name ) you aren't half going through it pal, I am stunned at what you and your family are going through with that lot.
I cant say anything else but I truly am sorry, nobody should have to go through that.

It's not something one usually goes on about.Thought I'd let Hurdy know many go through the same thing.
Worst and Blackest day for all my family was Sunday April 11th 2010, mums birthday.
My brother took himself, his shotgun, his beloved pointers which he bred for falconry to Lochwinnoch cemetery and shot himself in the heart.
Something which no family can or will ever come to terms with.
He was the LAST guy on the planet you'd put down for this.
It's a real hard one to put into words, but words were my coping mechanism.
So I put my feelings into words.Christ was it hard.

The Great Harpy

Death by suicide arrived on silent wings
The brutality of lead on bone and flesh
Twelve-bore, Six-shot, his final report
Details never spoken; “oh, how I miss my brother.”

Now, In my slumber, I rouse The Great Harpy
Wings rip through moist air, through gloom unseen
Talons poised to grip and tear my soul, my mind
I hide, sloth-still, algae infested, stained a perfect Green

Death by suicide has entered our ordinary lives
Mother - Father - Sister, binding all
I see the tic on mother's face
I sense her rabbity heartbeat
Always dark before the journey home

I must close this conduit to the other side
Which allows The Great Harpy to invade this forest, my canopy, this fortress, my mind
Gin trap talons plunge into flesh break my sleepy grip and I am gone.

For now I know my mission:to carry lights truth to the darkest places
For now I know The Great Harpy is me.

LOST FOR WORDS pal ... so sorry, I could very easily have at tear in my eye reading that.
Strangely you have just helped me, I lost my mum back in January and am still very emotional and will be for a long time to come. But she was 79, an ok innings you may say, what you have and are going through makes me feel a lot better about mum and her life.
Thank you, and sorry again.

Crikey, that poem brought tears to my eyes.
On a brighter note, my better half got the all clear today after nearly fourteen months of treatment for the dreaded C.
My tears today are tears of joy.
