Hi, I have a problem with an Ideal Icos boiler. The boiler is located on the ground floor of a dormer bungalow. The pump and diverter valve are mounted above the boiler in the false roof. The problem is that after draining the system to fit a new radiator and refilling the system the boiler only runs for a minute or so before cutting out on high temperature. All the radiators have been bled as well as all the high point vents and the pump. The air appears to be trapped in the boiler heat exchanger as you can hear gurgling and popping in the boiler as the temperature rises. The flow pipe obviously gets very hot and the boiler then cuts out. I assumed that the boiler would have some sort of auto vent on it as I cannot see any way of getting air out of other than through the high points vents which don't clear the problem.Your advice would be much appreciated.
