Hi there,

My boiler is a Ideal Isar HE30 and over the past month or so I've been noticing a leak from inside our boiler. The pressure drops to well below 1 which makes the central heating not work properly upstairs, if we top up the water pressure it leaks faster.

I downloaded the boiler manual and opened the boiler panel and I noticed that the leak is coming from the diverter valve or cartridge, I'm not sure which one but I have taken a photo of it.

The new diverter value looks like its £25 on eBay so it doesn't look like a expensive part to replace. I had a plumber visit who said I might have to consider getting a new boiler as Isar ones seem to go wrong all the time, don't know if I can believe him!

I'm wondering if anyone can tell from the photo if its the valve or cartridge that needs replacing and would this be a job that anyone could do?

Put the casing back on and get someone who is qualified to do the job ie a gas safe engineer
