I've one of those boilers that everyone hates, the isar he30, I would get rid of it but was installed under the warm front scheme and cant afford a new one. It broke down last year and was an electrode issue. 10 months later the Lf code has started to flash, so took the front off to have a look and make sure all the conections were ok. Started it up and all seemed fine. When I put the front on it makes a loud whoop nose, like when the gas gets ignited, but louder then the LF starts to flash.

Had another look and left the front off and was fine for ages. As soon as the front gets put back on, the noise comes back and the error pops up. Any ideas on why?

sorry mate you should not be messing around taking the cover plate off, unless you know what you are doing, leave it a lone and call g/s plumber.
before you do yourself some damage.

You seriously need an experienced GS repair engineer, please don't leave or even take the case off.

CJG and AGGIS are 100% spot on. As soon as you take the cover off a boiler it is deemed as "gas work" and you are breaking the law and mores the point you could be putting you and your families life at risk. It may seem tempting to try it yourself but for the sake of saving a few quid its really not worth it. I am a qualified plumbing/heating engineer and there are some boilers I am not comfortable working on and certain jobs I am not sure of and I have to get mates to give us a hand sometimes. But you should seriously not take a cover off a boiler.
