Hi Everyone
We (wife) want to fit a bath in a box. Basically tile the box and drop the bath in leaving about 3" of tile around all edges of the bath.
i though to make the box out of 2x4 treated CLS with the 4" facing up. Then clad it all in marmox (with access panel), tile and drop bath in. The bath would sit 10mm from the edge of the timber all around the box leaving about 80mm of tile visible all around the bath. I thought that with the weight of the bath spread around the box and the feet fitted and screwed to the floor that this would be ok. But I checked on Google and all I found are US and Australian "tips" and these guys use a bed of cement or plaster "mud" to set the base of the bath on. I hope to avoid this and would be grateful to know how local guys go about this! 🙂
thanks a lot for your help!!!
