has anyone been using the new Kane 457, is it any good and whats with the 'CO2 True Capsule' from the pictures it looks odd

I need a new analyser, (work just took mine from me), and because of the additional function i'm considering the 457

also why do second hand analysers cost so much on ebay?
cost of analyser and postage, plus the re calibration, comes out at not much less than buying a new one, but with added risk previous owner treated it badly, or worst could be stolen and you cant get it re calibrated

someone tell me what to do, i'm labouring under conflicting emotions, stick with an anton which i'm used to, or branch out and explore new horizons with a zane. What does my heart say, 'it says i dont like spending money'

i have had my 455 for three years now and swear by it,haven,t seen the 457 but will investigate, might be my next upgrade.

457 as far as i can tell is similar to the 455 however it has an additional function where it can do room ambient air, which was 1st part of the regs for commercial kitchens but is now covering more and more of the commercial stuff and will probably be entering the domestic regs for fires etc eventually

i bought a 455 last year i think its pretty good also they do different kits so you can tailor your purchase to not just price but type of work that you do. if i had to buy another one today i would buy the same one

I have the 455 and a cheap Regin one click analyser with staggered calibration dates as I can't be without one for a fortnight.

The 455 is the mutts nuts and as and when it gives up the ghost I'll have no hesitation in upgrading to another Kane!

Off to check it out now :smug2:

whoops just realised i haxe had my kane for over 5yrs,sent it back for calibration and it now requires new sensors at a cost of £175 so i have traded it in and got a new 455 which now comes with 6yrs warranty.
