Do these taps comply with water regs? They have a weight on them to make the spray bit return to the tap after pulling it down.
 
Thanks so that's suggesting it's cat 5 and doesn't have an AUK 3 air gap. So would need to be tank fed.
 
If you can’t guarantee the air gap as it pulls down below the height needed then yes. But how many are fitted all the time. I just came back from holiday in a rental cottage with one.

Unless there is some WRAS approved one that gets around that some how. Can’t say I know how it would but may be work a look.

You could fit a double check valve on the mains supply to the tap thereby preventing any back siphonage.
 
Thanks yes was thinking that. DCV are to fluid category 3 protection . Guess there a pretty poor design strictly speaking with regards to water regs. Like said in reality there just fitted as are. Was just wondering how they sit with regs. Thanks
