they are awesome mate, got this set and will get the rest soon.
they tighten onto the fitting as you turn.. instead of threatening to slip

I love them to bits, have all but the larger size.
Workmates not able to use them for toffee though so at least they won't go missing.

Cracking tool.
Got the medium set that are just big enough for meter unions.

heathens, my old grandad would rise from his grave and belt me for using tat tools, he always pushed for using the correct tool for the job, but he was a proper engineer and not a technician

They get tighter as you press on them, - so excellent in many ways. Firstly, they don't slip on fittings and chrome taps and great for tap glands.
Secondly, they hold on to a fitting or nut, which feels odd when normally only grips do this.
They feel a bit clumsy tbh, but like all new designed tools you will get used to it.
But the tool that beats them all is Footprints grips. They are nice and short and do very awkward jobs on ordinary brass fittings and waste fittings

Ive got the 180mm and the 250's, i now use the 180mm ones all the time, great for 15 and 22. The 250mm ones i rarely use, feel a bit awkward on 15mm stuff, fair bit heavier than equivalant size bahco spanner or cobras.

I was also a sceptic as i could see them slipping and having to grip them really tight but you dont at all.

I do find these 250mm Knipex are a bit too long and large for a lot of jobs. Really a specialised tool for me at moment. Brilliant at tightening onto tap glands though.
But that's interesting you like the smaller ones.
It is just so hard to adapt to using such a different tool when I only used adjustable spanners or Footprints from when I began doing plumbing.

yea, I have the 10" set, the 6" ones are better and easier to use in my opinion.
also have the regular grips and footprints but these are great cos they dont mark chrome etc

Yes, I tried them on the chrome works of an old style shower mixer yesterday and seemed gentle on it. (Was a call out of a split hot tap washer) I still would be wary it might mark them a little, but guess if it can't slip or move on the fitting then it won't cut into the fitting.
It will take a while before I become good with them. Meanwhile I am slow to adjust the Knipex and position it, - I look like I am a DIYer.

I have got also few grips .. 2 of 180mm with the push button , a very small one for fiddly stuff very handy in my opinion 2-250mm .. And organising now the new spanner can't wait to get it
