Large sink hole - small tap

I have a small hand basin and it was made with a 35- 37mm hole for a mixer tap. I want to fit a single basin tap but the tap flops around in the hole and is difficult to tighten up. Is there an adapter out there to make it fit? Otherwise I'll have to fit a mixer and blank off one tap feed. Thanks in advance.

I have seen a chrome disk type thing with a seal on the underside near the edge for this exact issue. I've got no idea where you'd get one or what it's called though.
Pop into your local independant plumbers merchants, they'll point you in the right direction.
