I have a job with a mixer tap in a kitchen which is leaking from where the spout joins the main body. The last company I worked for just insisted on replacing the whole tap in this sort of thing but can it be fixed? Obviously it doesn't just 'unscrew' but I assumed that maybe there is a screw/allen key on the back if the tap body and then a washer inside. Am I right or was my old company right? Thanks.

Everything can be fixed if you know how or can be bothered.
Your old co wanted replacements as there is no money in repair.
Down to you and your conscience.

You can repair them, but getting the correct 'o' ring is just about impossible. I have about 1 million different blighters, but they never fit anything

For the price of a tap (Cheep one) best just to replace it, depends on age, yes some have a grub screw at back , some come apart by lining up a ball catch inside tap, others wont come apart ! so to avoid call backs just replace it.

Thank you for your replies. I advised the customer just to buy a new tap and will be replacing it tomorrow.
