Leaking Plastic Pipe in Loft

Hi All noticed a damp patch on the ceiling in the airing cupboard. Went into loft and a plastic pipe which leads from the airing cupboard into the loft is leaking slightly.

The pipe is dripping water from the underside which is close to the floorboards so i can't get low enough to see if the pipe is split/cracked or if it is leaking from a join.

Can anyone advise if these pipes are likely to have a rubber seal inside the join which may have perished? or if the pipe is split can it be repaired with out replacing the pipe? I wrapped some PFTE tape around the general area but the dripping remains!

Any help greatly appreciated.

It's more likely to be from a joint than plastic pipe. But it's possible it's a leak from a pipe further up and running down the pipework and collecting around this joint to form a drop of water. There are O rings inside the joints and while they could perish it's not common.

My first port of call is to use a small mirror, torch and kitchen roll to dry the area off then establish exactly where the leak is first. Then you'll know what to replace.

could be from an overflow pipe, in which case it will be a joint as most plumbers, dont bother glueing them! as above find the exact source. if the pipe is connected to the top of your water tank, then you will also have to fix the ball valve. both jobs easily done.

Hi some suggestions for this, try to use inter joint connector with sealing material this will also produce better results.
