Leaky basin trap - advice needed!

b&q own make is rubbish get mcalpine it has a lip that goes inside the drain spigot and seals much better

tell me bout it dude there awfull lol i use mcalpine myself but just being lumberd with b and q own as they bought them with the bathrooms 🙁

Talking of duff traps, the Floplast inline telescopic trap from Screwfix is utter rubbish. It leaks no matter what you do with it.
I bought one thinking it could be usefull in a tight spot, it robbed a whole morning off me in lost time, in the end I lost my temper and ripped it out.

I often wish Screw fix would start selling Mcalpine, as the cheapo stuff that they sell is cack. I've tested pan connectors only for them to suddenly spring a leak weeks later for no reason, and the Floplast traps leak if only a tiny bit out of alignment.

My favourite trap is the Mcalpine TP10 also known as the all in one.

This is what you want I get the same trouble and this works a treat it has a short thread to go on to the metal waste and a long thread to go onto the trap. Silicone in my book is only a last resort and looks like a bodge.

Tool station do something similar in 1", 2" and 3" lengths for 1 1/4" and 1 1/2". Used them a few times and found them to do the job.
